Liston Canons

the Royal House of Howard
The House of Howard has been ruling Liston for over a thousand years, starting when Broan Howard unified the clans of Liston. Since ascending the throne, the Howards have seen Liston through prosperity, depression, war, famine, and peace. In more recent times, Princess Ophelia Seraphin of Sundaril had married into the Howards while the former First Princess of Liston, Alys, married Ophelia's brother, King Aldrin Seraphin. The double alliance between Liston and Sundaril tossed both countries for a loop, but more importantly the Howard line. Following the assassination of King Edward IV in August 1032 and the takeover of the crown in 1036, the last hopes for the continuation of the Howard line lies within Callan's line. Their motto is "Always."

TWELVE • DREW VAN ACKER • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Sent to a monastery as a young child and was once thought dead.”

TWELVE• OLIVIA HOWARD BAGG • SUBPLOT: NONE

Lord Brion Howard
NINE• URIAH SHELTON • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Forced to abdicate throne in favor of Callan.”

RE: Canons of Liston
High Listonese Nobility

the Noble House of Greystone
The House of Greystone started just after the Howards started their dynasty. Because of the late Duke Adam's marriage to King Edwin's younger sister, Maeve, the Greystones have a tie to the throne that is unbeatable by all others except direct descendants of Edwin himself. Currently, their Duke has returned to them after his marriage to the queen was annulled. Their motto is "Trust and Honor.”

THIRTY-FIVE• JAMES MCAVOY • SUBPLOT: NONE

“The Duke of Burlington, one time husband to the Queen of Liston before it was annulled after several years of marriage.”

“Once wild and a bit of a 'playboy,' it seems as if Peter has finally settled down... or has he?”

“Son of Archer and Elizabeth Greystone.”

Lady Susanna Greystone
FOUR • PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE • NPC

“Daughter of Archer and Elizabeth Greystone.”

the Noble House of Hart
The House of Hart arose when a faithful knight proved himself on the field of battle. The knight's name? Sir Walter Hart. The Harts have risen far since the day of battle, owning the county of Rochford in the three hundred years since. However, the late Lord Walter VII died at the old age of fifty seven leaving his wife and children behind. Lady Jane was said to be his daughter (some whisper that she is King Edwin's.) until her death in Sundaril after a failed attempt to assassinate the king there. Fate dealt a harder hand for Lady Mary as she was killed along with King Edwin during Lady Helen Arundel's madness. Their motto is “Fierce as Lions."

TWENTY-NINE • RICHARD ARMITAGE • SUBPLOT: NONE

"Count of Rochford; Recently remarried to Lady Elsa after the death of his first wife.”

TWENTY-THREE• MCKENNA KNIPE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Countess of Rochford; Recently married and learning to tolerate her new husband, despite hating him.”

Lady Thea Hart
ONE • PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE • NPC

“Daughter of Constantine through his marriage to Elsa.”

the Noble House of Beaumont
The Beaumonts are the oldest of the houses and, in the past, have provided wives for the past princes and kings, lending them an air of authority. Their number has considerably dropped after the assassination of King Edwin, in which their family was implicated. They were kept either in house arrest or the Northern Tower for two months. Within the grasp of the Tower died the late duke, Richard, who was buried in an undisclosed location. Their cousin, Arthur, was beheaded for treason along with the new duke's sister, Helen Beaumont-Arundel. Because of these disgraces, they have since been seen as social pariahs and no one wants to truly associate with them, either openly or in private. Their motto is, "Gentle and Fair."

FORTY-ONE • JAKE GYLLENHAAL • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT X

“Duke of Gatheron; Despite his family's betrayal to the crown so many years ago, he still remains noble.”

Duchess Thomasin Beaumont
THIRTY-ONE • YVONNE STAHOVSKI • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Duchess of Gatherton.”

THIRTEEN • GRACE DEVER • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT X

Lord William Beaumont
TEN• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Was born in a set of twins though his older twin died of illness.”

Lady Ginevra Beaumont
FIVE• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Daughter of Hector and Thomasin.”

the Lesser House of Beaumont
The Lesser House of Beaumont is a branch that sprouted off from the main tree, so to speak. When the late matriarch of the Beaumonts died, she willed that her second son Edwin would inherit her dowry estate of Asher, but only if he did not marry Felicity Byrd. Edwin dutifully married Anne Watermore, but continues his relationship with the scandalous ex-actress. Like the Beaumonts, their motto is, "Gentle and Fair."

THIRTY-NINE• JAMIE DORNAN • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Secretly funds Felicity Byrd’s home and his son’s upbringing.”

TWENTY-SIX• ROSAMUND PIKE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Married her husband at age 15 and disapproves of his ongoing affections with Felicity Byrd.”

TEN• WILLOW SHIELDS • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT I

“Will one day be married to Thomas Arundel.”

EIGHT • LILY COLLINS • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Daughter of Edwin and Anne.”

“Daughter of Edwin and Anne.”

Lord Isaiah Beaumont
NEWBORN • PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Result of an affair with Lord Archer Greystone.”

the Noble House of Arundel
The House of Arundel faced a very hard time when the Lord died unexpectedly in the middle of dinner. In retaliation, Helen struck back and murdered both the king and her own sister, who was his mistress. She was beheaded for treason and dragged the Beaumonts down with her. Her son is now struggling to rise in court after such a heavy blow. Ironically, their motto is, " The Most Loyal."

TWENTY-EIGHT• ADRIEN BRODY • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT II

“Duke of Overton.”

TWELVE• JADIN GOULD • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Betrothed to Count Tyrone Cauldwell as of January, 1043.”

ELEVEN• ISABELLE FUHRMAN • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT II

“Daughter of Richard and Amelia.”

NINE• RANDOM DEVIANTART CHILD • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT II

“Daughter of Richard and Amelia.”

TWENTY-SIX • AIDAN TURNER • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT I

“Believes the Arundel bloodline to be cursed and wishes to eradicate it.”

the Noble House of Watermore
The House of Watermore was destined to shine and succeed as it had the last one hundred years. However, upon the death of the current Marquess's brother from a horse fall and subsequent trample, the House of Watermore has lost its status as a rising house. With the ultra-religious and strict Henry Watermore at its head, it is quite ironic that his son and heir is a rumored libertine and, possible, bisexual! Because of his inability to change or deal with change, his wife, Katherine, finds him inflexible and cannot bring herself to love him, instead wasting all of her devotion and love on her last child: Henry II. Their (newly changed) motto is, "By God Alone."

Marquess Henry Watermore
FORTY-NINE• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Marquess of Liesel; Quite strict in behavior and morals. Would have become a clergyman if not for his older brother's death earlier in life.”

Marchioness Katherine Watermore
FORTY-ONE • PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

Lord William Watermore
TWENTY-SEVEN• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“The world is full of pleasures and I plan on discovering them all.”

Lady Blakely Watermore
NINETEEN• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT VIII

“Is currently plotting with her mother to take the county. She needs an escape from her abusive husband and from her horrid life.”

Lord Henry II Watermore
FIFTEEN• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Being groomed for the priesthood.”

the Noble House of Cauldwell
The Noble House of Cauldwell has seen it's share of tragedies, but recently found themselves quite pleased when it's patriarch was able to secure a healthy, happy match for himself. Still, this leads others wondering what will become of his youngest brother and his foreign bride. Furthermore, the ill will towards the Sundrili is carrying over to Katherine Cauldwell, and though she's a good woman, her arrival never fails to cause stirs and spits in her direction. Their motto is "With Each Blow, I Grow Stronger."

Count Tyrone Cauldwell
FORTY-FIVE• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Count of Liswell; Betrothed to Lady Saralynn Arundel.”

THIRTY-NINE• KRISTEN HOLDEN RIED • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Sister of the Duke of Namaril in Sundaril.”

EIGHT• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Son of Teddington and Katherine..”

FOUR• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Daughter of Teddington and Katherine.”

the Noble House of Blackwood
The Blackwood family rose from the ashes after being accused of treason about two hundred years ago. Though there has been a few minor scrapes with the royal family recently about loyalty, the Blackwoods have managed to hold on to their title and their lands easily. After all, they are one of the richest families in Liston. The late Marquess managed to go through four wives in his lifetime. The first was the sister of the late Richard Beaumont. She died in childbirth. The second was barren and died of consumption. The third died after giving birth to twins and the fourth died recently, also in childbirth. The last one was seventeen when she died. Their motto: "Piety and Peace."

Marquess Thomas Blackwood
THIRTY-TWO• JONATHAN RHYS-MEYERS • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT I, ACT III

“Marquess of Sistina; secretly supported Callan's claim to the throne, even though the popular opinion was that the boy was assassinated. However, Thomas knew the truth and paid tutors and select people to help the boy in his monastery.”

THIRTY • NATALIE DORMER • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT I, ACT III

“Marchioness of Sistina; Despite having a multitude of children, Octavia is still embroiled in political intrigues. Not only does she help her husband protect Callan, but she has also sent money and gifts and hopes to one day wed her eldest daughter to him.”

TWELVE • RYAN NEWMAN • SUBPLOT: NONE

“A girl who enjoys archery and sports? What will they think of next?”

Lord Arthur Blackwood
TEN• KODY SMIT-MCPHEE • SUBPLOT: NONE

Lady Katherine Blackwood
FOUR• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Daughter of Thomas and Octavia.”

Lady Isabella Blackwood
NEWBORN• PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“The latest of the Blackwood clan. It is said that her birth tore her mother apart so badly that her mother will not be able to have another child.”

the Noble House of Seymour
The house of Seymour has had a long climb to get where they are now. Intially, they started off as simple knights. However, like the Harts, they were rewarded for their bravery in battle and given land and a title as a result. Even more recently, they were raised to the title of Count upon helping the Queen Regent during her "Great Trouble" in 1033. Currently, they are pleased with what they have but who knows when ambition will strike? Their motto: “With Virtue and Valor."

FORTY-FIVE• RALPH FIENNES • SUBPLOT: NONE

“A gentle-hearted, yet ambitious man.”

TWENTY-NINE• BELLA HEATHCOTE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“A pious and dutiful wife. Once meek and mild, but becoming more ambitious.”

ELEVEN• ISAAC HEMPSTEAD-WRIGHT • SUBPLOT: NONE

Lord Raleigh Seymour
NEWBORN • PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Son of the late Thomas and Tavarii.”

the Noble House of Pierce
The House of Pierce has fallen on some hard times since they married the eldest daughter to a Greystone lord. First, Count Samuel became devastatingly ill. Then, once he seemed to be getting better, his wife was beginning to hear whispered accusations of witchcraft. Now on his deathbed, the wife that hated him is now desperately trying to keep him alive as long as possible for she fears the fire around the pole. Their motto is, "Straight and True."

Count Samuel Pierce
SIXTY • PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT VIII

“Slowly dying from an unknown illness. Rumored that his wife is keeping him alive with magic and potions.”

Countess Marjorie Pierce
FORTY-NINE• LANA PARRILLA • SUBPLOT: SUBPLOT II, ACT VIII

“Said to be a witch, Marjorie is feared and hated through their county. She plans to put her daughter, Blakely, in her husband's place in order to keep the mob from putting her through trial and execution once her husband is dead.”

RE: Canons of Liston
Lower Listonese Nobility

the Noble House of Byrd
The House of Byrd has found itself in some strange places since it started in the late 900's. Not only was there massive spats of who got what, but documented proof has shown that one of the ladies of the house, a Felicity Byrd, worked as a prostitute-actress in Sundaril. Since then, the family's ties have found themselves severed as no one wants to be connected to such scandal. Their motto is, “Free in Spirit."

the Noble House of Buckingham
The House of Buckingham was once considered the glory of the lower nobility. Their lands were once incredibly prosperous and they were able to do more than simply make ends meet. Despite the tight ship that once was run, the Barony has changed hands thrice since those times. The current Baron is rumored to be completely mad, and what's worse, he's been accused of attempting to murder his wife. Their motto is, “With Dignity and Loyalty."

Lord Michael Buckingham
THIRTEEN • PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

the Noble House of Harley
The House of Harley is neither old nor young, but well-recognized in Liston’s court. Originally, Harley men were a long line of Knights, dutiful and loyal to their king. They won their Barony during King Edward III’s reign when the King was nearly skewered by a stag on a hunt. The Harley who saved him died on the scene, but the grateful King awarded the Barony to his son who upheld his father’s strict morals. The current Baron has raised his children into respectable citizens, much like the Harleys before him, and they seem unlikely to come across scandal. Almost as soon as they had received the Barony, their motto became “With Purity and Assurance."

Lord Gabriel Russell
TWELVE • PLAYER'S CHOICE • SUBPLOT: NONE

“Often forgotten by all but his father and sister. More attached to Elsa than his own mother.”

the Noble House of Clifford
The House of Clifford was created many centuries ago though their progress towards a higher title has been at a stand still. Originally their family came from Farangalian, settling in Liston due to a civil war that had erupted there. However, they were given lands after helping the Listonese economy during a severe time. Their motto is, "This is Living."

The House of Cannelley originated in 853 when one of their number saved the current king when his horse lost it's calm and raced towards a cliff. Luckily, a knight from Eastland was able to save the king in time and received the property of his birth as a reward. Since then, the Cannelley's have been unable to get a better title, causing some seething tension between themselves and the crown. Their motto is "We Risk All."

the Noble House of Heathlyn
The House of Heathlyn started, like most other houses, from an act of valor or prowess. The reasons have been long forgotten, but the reasons for the recent feud with the Cannelley's hasn't been: deep-seated envy.
